MY TIME FOR YOUNG CARERS STAFF AND VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT STATEMENT
At My Time for Young Carers, we want everyone who attends to feel safe and secure in a welcoming environment. Everyone should be able to enjoy and participate in the activities provided without fear of negative behaviour.
Staff members and Volunteers will agree to:
Treat all young people, staff, and volunteers with respect
Listen to children when they are talking to you
Listen to a child if they have worries or concerns and ensure that necessary action is taken where appropriate
Help and encourage children to make everyone feel welcome
Supervise all areas of My Time activities properly
Avoid being unkind to a child or behaving in a way that makes them feel upset
Not use bad language
Not be abusive or violent towards a child
Try to provide an interesting, fun, and varied programme of activities for the children
Assist, where appropriate, with the provision of something to eat and drink at all activities
Be honest and open
Respect confidentiality (where appropriate)
Help a child to know when their actions are hurting others, which may
involve the intervention of another adult, who may be the lead volunteer
Use digital communications with children and young people only through the official systems of My Time 4 Young Carers
My Time has established policy documents relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, behaviour, bullying and e-safety. Please ensure that you take the time to familiarise yourself with these documents in your volunteer pack.
